Editors' Quick Thoughts

Being that this exam is next available on Saturday, 10 December 2005 and your results are mailed to you, this closely resembles a CPA exam. In fact, numerous CPAs with technical prowess hold this cert. Better know your stuff, because your chances of passing this exam come but twice a year.

From the Horse's Mouth (ISACA Web Site Content):

The mark of excellence for a professional certification program is the value and recognition it bestows on the individual who achieves it. Since 1978, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) program has been the globally accepted standard of achievement in the IS audit, control and security field. Earning the CISA designation helps assure a positive reputation as a qualified IS audit, control and/or security professional, and because the CISA program certifies individuals who demonstrate proficiency in today's most sought-after skills, employers prefer to hire and retain those who achieve and maintain their designation.

A 2001 survey of ISACA members holding the CISA certification revealed that the majority (71 percent) believe that obtaining the certification had helped advance their careers. When all ISACA members, CISA or not, were asked if they thought gaining the CISA would help their careers in the future, the positive response was even greater: 75 percent.
